What makes us human?  Where did we come from?  What separates us from other animals?

These are some of the questions we may often ask ourselves.  What do you think?  Write your ideas in your wiki.  Then take a look at the video segment in this lab.  At the end of the session, go back to your wiki and answer these questions:

 Looking at words

There are a number of words which are found in the texts you have already read that will be heard in the video. You may not know how they sound so these exercises will help you to  be able to recognise them in the segment.

Either:

• Play the flashcard games,  Listen to the words first to hear the pronunciation

• Use the online dictionary, Webster's Learners dictionary  type in the word and then listen to its pronunciation.

Then, see how well you can match the word to the image, by doing this Picture and word

Now to the video.  Look at the pictures below. How are they related. In your wiki, write a few sentences explaining how these images could be linked.  After watching the segment, return to check what you wrote against what you saw.
